Newly elected MP (Batticaloa District) Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan, urged him to uphold his rights as a Member of Parliament.
Pillayan made this request while informing the Speaker that he had to undergo great hardship to obtain permission to attend the inaugural session of the 9th Parliament.
“I have also been asked to obtain permission from Courts to attend every session in Parliament. I cannot be doing this every day. It is not possible to work for the people in such circumstances. Therefore I request you to intervene to uphold my rights as an Member of Parliament,” further added.
